Why did you decide to take part in the workshops?
Before attending the course I was working for the NHS with NightOutGroup on the sidelines, so without the experience of running a company full-time, I needed a push in the right direction.


What did you aim to get out of the sessions?
I attended all five sessions to gain as much advice as possible and I’ve also taken advantage of the free resource documents available online. I really needed a broad spectrum of knowledge in order to make sure the business was profitable and I was able to secure investment if I needed it.


What did you enjoy most about attending?
The trainers kept the workshops interesting whilst still delivering the knowledge that we needed. Finance can be a bit of a stale subject but I never found myself bored during the sessions.


How have you used what you learnt within your business?
The Understanding Finance course highlighted the issues my company might face and made me appreciate the value of my own time and how employing people to share the workload made more financial sense. After receiving my Level Three accreditation in business finance, I now feel I have enough knowledge to work with my bank and potential investors in order to expand even further.


What benefits have the sessions brought to your business?
My ideas might never have left the walls of my spare room if it hadn’t been for the workshops. We’ve secured new premises and we’re in a fortunate enough position to have taken on new members of staff in a bid to expand both nationally and internationally. I never would have had the knowledge or confidence to shoot without this training.


Would you recommend the sessions to other businesses?
I would recommend both the workshops and online resources to any other small to medium sized business out there – they really do help you take the next step toward achieving your goals.
